Volkswagen Factory, Museum, and Auto Towers
in Wolfsburg, Germany

As part of our optional 10-day/9-night Auto Factory Tour of Germany, you will visit the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, which prides itself on being the largest auto plant in the world. Here, you will have three separate tours: the Factory Tour, the Discovery Tour, and the Car Tower. The Autostadt offers tours of the factory, a massive car museum, and seven pavilions dedicated to the various VW cars.

A barge, moored at the pier in front of the Autostadt’s Group Forum, will ferry you across the canal to the factory. Then, a panorama train will take you right into the heart of automobile production, where you will be able to see how Volkswagen cars are made. You will experience the production areas of the press shop, body shop, and final assembly. You will have the opportunity to witness the birth of a Volkswagen car firsthand. Take a glance behind the scenes and look over the employees' shoulders. This will be approximately a one-hour tour, providing you with a direct insight into the various production steps.

The seven pavilions dedicated to car manufacturers are Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Skoda, and a Premium Clubhouse, formerly known as the Bentley, and two pavilions for Volkswagen. You will have free time to walk through the different pavilions at your own pace.

The Auto Towers are two 60-meter (200-foot) tall glass silos used for storing new Volkswagens. The two towers are connected to the Volkswagen factory by a 700-meter underground tunnel. When cars arrive at the towers, they are carried up at a speed of 1.5 meters per second. You will have the thrill to ride in a glass cabin to the top of the tower to the observation deck on the 20th floor for a panoramic view over the city of Wolfsburg and the Autostadt.

After the factory and museum guided tours, you will have free time to walk through the Autostadt at your own pace.
